September 18, 1937 — July 22, 2018

Wayne Mark Moore of Big Timber, Mont., passed away while doing what he loved to do, trout fishing, on Sunday, July 22 at a favorite fishing spot in Montana. His father Linus Moore of New Milford, Pa., had also passed away while fishing and doing what he loved and Wayne’s family is happy to see that he was able to do what he loved until his last day with us.

Wayne was born on September 18, 1937 to father Linus Moore and mother Audrey Snow and lived most of his life in upstate New York with the latter half in Big Timber, Mont., with his wife Gayle McPherson. Wayne served his country in the 101st Airborne Division of the U.S. Army and was honorably discharged July 19, 1956. After the military Wayne worked as a carpenter on a number of the 9-Mile Nuclear Power Plants that are based on the shores of Lake Ontario outside of Oswego, NY until retiring and moving to Montana.

Wayne was an avid hunter, fisherman and trapper to say the least and he enjoyed passing on the family love of the outdoors to his children and grandchildren, as well as neighbors and friends. Wayne is survived by his wife Gayle McPherson of Big Timber, Mont., sister Gail along with sons Mark, Michael, Patrick and Jack and daughters Sherry and Angela. Immediate grandchildren Jennifer, Josh, Mike, Mathew, Austin, Jordan, Aiden, Justin and Skylar Moore, along with many great grandchildren also survive Wayne. With Wayne in Heaven are Stephanie and Dusty Moore, Wayne’s courageous grandchildren who were there to meet grandpa when he came “home”.

Family and friends will be gathering to remember Wayne at 11 a.m., Monday, Aug. 6 at the Mountain View Cemetery in Big Timber. Luncheon to immediately follow at the American Legion in Big Timber Mont.
