STATE TRACK AND FIELD: Herders compete, place on day one
The Herders found a variety of team points on the first of two days at the Class B State Track and Field Championships in Laurel on May 25. Here are how the boys' (and lone girl qualifier Jolie Wood) faired after the first day:
Nathan Baker: 2nd in discus (149-6); 6th in javelin (163-7).
Junior Mosness: 6th in 400 dash (51.5).
Jolie Wood: 10th in 400 dash (1:02.55).
Hayden Mosness: 15th in long jump (19-2 1/2).
Casey Gunlikson: Qualified with top time’s in 100 (11.1) and 200 (22.6) dashes.
Boys’ 4x100: Qualified in sixth for Satruday's finals (44.82).
