Local man pleads not guilty in district court

A Big Timber man accused of possession with intent to distribute methamphetamine appeared in United States District Court in Billings in February. Michael Delack, 48, who pleaded not-guilty on two felony drug charges, was released from custody to await jury trial scheduled for Apr. 23. The defendant agreed to standard release conditions, submitting to random drug testing while awaiting trial. The release order was signed by U.S. Magistrate Timothy Cavan. If convicted, Delack faces a possible life sentence, up to $10,000,000 in fines and  five years supervised release. The case was investigated by the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives.
