Big Timber’s Cliff Weller was one of 25 students to receive the Larry Malone and Yellowstone Chapter Scholarship Award from the Rocky Mountain Section PGA Foundation this year.

Weller, along with the other 24 winners, will receive $1,000 to help with college education-related expenses during the 2018-19 school year.

The scholarship is given each year to college-bound high school seniors based on academic achievement, community and extracurricular activity, leadership, financial need and involvement and contribution to the game of golf. During the last 44 years, the scholarship has granted more than $330,000 in aide.

“Thanks to the many kind people who contributed to the scholarship funding efforts of the RMSPGA Foundation,” said Vaughn Jenkins, PGA, executive director, Rocky Mountain Section PGA in a news release last week. “We wish this year’s scholarship recipients great success.”

Weller was part of the Sweet Grass County boys’ golf team that went to state this season, taking third overall.
