James Herman Hagberg

James Herman Hagberg would have been 87 years old on July 13. He was born July 13, 1933 on the Hagberg Ranch north of Two Dot near Olof. His father was the midwife. He had seven siblings whom lived out of 10.

Jim rode into the sunset on his horse Blacky on Wednesday, June 10, 2020. He died from complications with a gall bladder attack in Bill ings St Vincent Healthcare.

He loved his animals, both domestic and wild. He was a lifelong active member of the Moose Club. He loved hunting elk and deer with his family. He loved square dancing and belonged to two dance clubs, one in Martinsdale and one in Big Timber.

He ran about 500 mother cows and 70 heifers for replacement. He took time with the cows he had, as many of them would eat cow cake out of anyone’s hand. He also had about 400 sheep that he fed and lambed with his family. Through the years he rode 10 or so horses.

He is survived by one son Terry (Yvonne) Hagberg, daughters Roxie (Jim) Hogemark and Kristi (Dan) Hogemark, brother Ed (Linda) Hagberg, sisters Jean Hutchison, Anna Willems and Nellie Durham, numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Too many to mention, but he loved them all, each and every one of them.

Jim is preceded in death by his ex-wife, our mother, Geraldine VanDerVoort Hagberg Jones, his girlfriend Jackie Schmidt, his brothers, John and Harold (Herk), a sister Ellen Zaharko, a daughter-in-law Ellie Hagberg, brothers-in-law Jay Hutchison, Dick Willems and Val Durham.

His family and the community will miss him greatly.
