J. Everett Bare

Everett was born June 4, 1928 to Charley G. and Mary Bertie Cullip Bare in a log house on the family ranch near Reed Point along the Yellowstone River. He began his school years at the West White Beaver country school, then, transferred to Reed Point Schools, ultimately graduating from Columbus High School after his family moved from Reed Point to the Stillwater Valley.

Everett married Lois Lorash on September 19, 1948, living South of Columbus for a few years, then, moved back to the ranch at Reed Point where he spent the remainder of his life.

Everett was a member of the Reed Point Evangelical Church, National Farmers Organization, Stillwater County Sheriff’s Posse, Men for Missions, Gideons, and R-Calf USA.

Everett passed away from natural causes September 29, 2020 at the age of 92 years.

Everett was preceded in death by his parents, Charley and Bertie, his wife of almost 64 years, Lois, brother Charles (Harriet), sister Frances (Bill) Bokma, son-in-law Matt Berry, brother-in-law Charles (Mary Lou) Lorash, brother-in-law Bill Lorash, and sister-in-law Laverne Bokma.

He is survived by his children, Ann (Joe) Costello, Sally (Ron) Larson, Karen Berry, Ron (Teresa) Bare, grandchildren Jennifer (Duwain) Aamodt, Sarah (Walt) Stevens, Becky (Jason) Deffinbaugh, Tara (Joel) Schumacher, Mike (Kenda) Larson, Derek (Shelly) Larson, Eli Berry, Ethan (Kristi) Berry, Jake Bare, Whitney (Tanner) Dockery, Cade Bare, Cole Bare, great-grandchildren Isabella Saavedra, Kael Aamodt, Tori Schumacher, Jace, Callie, and Carter Stevens, Finn and Zane Deffinbaugh, Wyatt and Cameron Larson. Everett is also survived by his brother Roy (Jean) Bare, sister-in-law Evelyn (Hap) Bokma, brother-in-law George Bokma, and sister-in-law Astrid Lorash.

Memorials may be given to Reed Point Evangelical Church, Reed Point Public Schools, or the charity of your choice.
