Barbara Miller Hymas

Barbara Miller Hymas died from natural causes at Beartooth Manor in Columbus, Montana where she had resided for the last two and a half years.

She spent most of her childhood wintering in Arizona and summers in Montana helping her parents run the family guest ranches.

She married her soul mate, Ron Hyman, in 1950. After he returned from service to his country they moved to Wilson, Wyoming where they lived until 1961. That spring they moved their family to the Elkhorn Ranch south of Bozeman to help her mother run the guest ranch.

In the late 80s they decided it was time to retire and sold the ranch and began to do some traveling, which was dictated by golf courses they wanted to try. They spent their winters on a golf course in Wickenburg, Arizona and traveling around the south. Summers were spent traveling up north where the weather wasn’t quite so hot. They checked in often with family and friends while traveling around enjoying their favorite courses or finding new ones.

They built a house in Montana in 2004 and their travels shortened, still spending winters south where they could enjoy the warmer weather and playing golf. Barbara suffered a stroke in 2007, which ended their travels and golfing. They lived in their Montana home until December of 2017 when they moved to Beartooth Manor in Columbus.

Barbara is preceded in death by her husband Ron Hymas, her parents Ernest and Grace Miller, two brothers Dick Miller and Bob Miller, sister-in-law Bev Martin and son-in-law Roald Molberg.

She is survived by her children Shirley (Kevin) Halverson of Big Timber, Bill Hymas of Phoenix, Oregon, Ginger Hymas Molberg of Duluth, Minnesota, Kate (Jim)Trees of Reed Point, Montana, six grandchildren, thirteen great grandchildren, one great great grandchild and numerous nieces and nephews.

Donations may be made to Beartooth Manor or a charity of your choosing. A memorial service will be held at a later date.
