Members of Crazy Horse family coming to Big Timber

Members of the Crazy Horse family will be available to meet at a book signing at Carnegie Public Library on Nov. 17 at 5:30 p.m.

Author William Matson, who wrote, ‘Crazy Horse: The Lakota Warrior’s Life and Legacy,’ discusses the oral history of the Crazy Horse family, which has not been openly discussed for more than a century, according to a news release from the library.

Members Floyd Clown, Doug War Eagle and Don Red Thunder will be on hand for the meet and greet opportunity. The three members are the grandsons of Edward Clown, nephew to Crazy Horse and the “keeper of the sacred bundle and pipe for the family after his mother, Iron Cedar, passed away.”

The book divulges into information about the Battle of Little Bighorn, “including who killed Custer, how he was killed and what happened to the missing index finger,” the release said.

The event is free and open to the public.
